Description

Alcea Chater's Double Apricot, also known as Hollyhock, is a timeless garden favourite that adds romantic charm to any outdoor space. With towering spikes reaching up to 180 cm, this variety features densely packed, double blooms in a warm apricot shade, perfect for brightening up borders, cottage gardens, and backdrops.

Blooming from mid-summer to early autumn, each flower resembles a delicate, ruffled rosette, creating an eye-catching display that embodies the essence of an English country garden. Loved by gardeners and pollinators alike, Chater's Double Apricot attracts bees and butterflies, making it a great eco-friendly choice for promoting garden biodiversity. Fully hardy and easy to grow, this Hollyhock thrives in sunny, well-drained locations, adding vertical interest and timeless elegance to any garden.

Due to its tall stature and extensive root system, Alcea Chater's Double Apricot is not ideal for containers. It thrives in garden beds, where its roots can spread and it has room for support to grow upright. However, if planting in pots, choose a large, deep container (at least 30-40 cm in diameter and depth) with good drainage. Be prepared to stake the plants as they grow tall to prevent toppling.

Supplied as bare root plants, this popular variety is a reliable choice that brings beauty year after year, perfect for creating a vibrant and natural landscape with minimal effort.
