This plant features thick stems adorned with numerous tiny white or yellow waxy flowers, emerging from a base of large green leaves. Topping each flower column is a small tuft of leaves, giving the plant a distinctive look.
This spiky crown has earned Eucomis autumnalis the nickname "Pineapple Flower" or "Pineapple Lily."
In colder areas, it is a good idea to lift the bulbs from the ground in autumn, pot them up, and move them to a sheltered spot or cool greenhouse for winter.
