Description

Gillenia trifoliata, also known as Bowman’s Root, is a hardy perennial that brings a light, airy feel to gardens. Its slender stems and delicate, star-shaped white flowers create a soft, shimmering effect that adds movement and elegance to borders, woodland areas, and natural planting schemes.

Growing to a height of 60-90 cm, this plant features bright green, three-part leaves that turn beautiful shades of orange and red in autumn. From late spring to early summer, it blooms with masses of five-petalled white flowers that seem to float above the foliage, swaying gently in the breeze.

Bowman’s Root is easy to grow and very adaptable. It does well in partial shade but can also handle full sun if the soil is kept moist. It thrives in different types of soil, as long as it drains well. Its natural, relaxed look makes it perfect for informal gardens, but it also works well as a feature plant.

We provide high-quality bare-root Gillenia trifoliata plants, ready to plant in fertile, well-drained soil. Once established, it needs little maintenance and will return year after year. It pairs beautifully with bold perennials, grasses, or shrubs, adding texture and contrast.

If you’re looking for a perennial with graceful charm and subtle beauty, Gillenia trifoliata is a wonderful choice for any garden style.
